Sermons

Here are a few hundred sermons to add to the millions already floating around the world. Why more?

Because the “Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Heb 4:12).  But it cannot do this work if it is unknown.

The most valuable and useful piece of literature any of us own is our bible. And so we are not surprised that Paul would instruct the Pastor of the church at Ephesus to devote himself “to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching” (1 Tim 4:13).

The act of preaching and the act of listening to a sermon and the act of reading a sermon is an act of honouring the Word of God.

As the congregation listened to these sermons being preached they honoured the Word upon which the sermons were based. As you take time to read these sermons you too honour the bible.

Please may I stress again, these are sermons not essays. They were crafted originally to enter the ear gate not the eye. Nevertheless  there could be much here of value for those who go digging.
