Rev. David Morland
was born in 1949 and has been happily married to Anne since
1970. They have two married daughters and three
granddaughters.
Before becoming a pastor David worked as an
electrician. During the late 1970s David studied theology
at both the Bible College of South Australia and the
Baptist Theological College of South Australia. He has
pastored Baptist Churches in South Australia and Melbourne.
David commenced as the pastor of the Beaconsfield Church at
the beginning of 2001.
His interests, outside of the
church, include walking (a regular member of the
Beaconsfield Walking Group), Civic issues (secretary of the
Beaconsfield Progress Association), and exploring coffee
shops with Anne.

The church has a team of Pastoral Carers. These folk
are here to help. In times of sickness,
hospitalisation, stress, bereavement, or difficulties, these
folk seek to get along side and provide a caring, listening
ear.
The Prayer Chain is for urgent prayer requests to be
brought before members of the church so that as many people
as possible can pray for any emergency or serious illness.
The church has a small but very well put together
collection of books, magazines, audio tapes, and
videos. The church library is a valuable resource of
spiritual encouragement.
"Deacon" is the name we give to the members of the small
group who oversee and mange this church. Deacons are
elected at our Annual Meeting. The word
deacon
means servant. Our deacons are a great bunch and they
are here to be of help.
We have two teams that help with food as the need
arises. In cases of homes with a newborn baby and in
cases of homes with a sickness our teams can help by
providing casseroles.
Also, most weeks we are able to provide bread to those who
stand in need.
